Quite deep ruby garnet core with garnet rim . Aromatic and quite deeply spicy on the nose with liquorice , dried spices , red cherry , red plum , rose . On the palate this is quite intense and tannic, red cherry , red plum , saline with smoky , tobacco , liquorice hints . Firm tannins with fresh acidity , sweet spice and ripe red fruit . Good length , this still is pretty young and needs more time . Better in another 5-10 years and will last well a further 10-15 — 2 days ago

This turned out to be really excellent. Bought direct from Kermit Lynch. Classic, dark ripe cherry. Touch plum and extremely good soft and plenty of tannins. Quite tart now yet it will last a decade. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Consistent throughout. The 2019 “La Rocca” pours a bright, deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe, squishy tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, apricot, yellow flowers, nuts, saffron and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, elegant with a silky texture. This worked wonders with homemade Runza’s. This is a significant step up from the Soave Classico. Drink now through 2034. — 2 months ago

This wine is medium dark garnet in the glass. The nose has a good supply of cherry and raspberry notes, dusted up with earth, tar and anise. The palate has a bit of licorice on it, but mainly serves as a showcase for the red fruit. There are some spicy elements, too. White pepper, nutmeg, and a very light clove sense brighten up the fruit. Tannic structure is firm and acidity refreshing. I had mine with a slow cooker red wine short rib dish, and the pairing was sublime. — 2 months ago
