Rupi Del Nebbiolo

Cantina Bartolo Mascarello

Barolo Nebbiolo 1970

this is very light… Almost rosé colored with a hint of Amber. On the nose, classic Nebiolo, lifted, pure and bright. This is fully mature and pretty light bodied… A touch shrill on the finish. Cherry, dried flowers, and a hint of a tang. Decent, but it’s probably saying better days. — 4 days ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2021

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Delicious throughout. The 2021 pours a bright garnet color with transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of Morello cherry, raspberry, cranberry, red flowers, orange zest, some tar, talcum powder, dried herbs and dry, organic earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is about as sapid of a young Classico I’ve had from Produttori. It’s a bold wine right now but some time on its side will bring more into balance. Drink now with some patience through 2051. — 18 days ago

Perbacco Langhe Nebbiolo 2023

I've had a few vintages of this and it never disappoints. It's a great mix of lively fruit and some rustic qualities. Pairs with just about anything. I'm going to have it with spaghetti squash and grilled chicken and mushrooms.

Otin Fiorin Piè Rupestris-Nebioli Barolo Nebbiolo 2021

Light rubi robe, nose of crushed roses, dried herbs, violettes, and cedarwood. Very light on its feet and very elegant. Make no mistake, it’s a serious Barolo. Complex and elegant, top notch. — 7 days ago

Monprivato di Castiglione Falletto Barolo Nebbiolo 2021

Sommelier recommended Barolo, which was definitely the right course of action picking our way through a wine list in Capri!
Excellent selection. Light, delicate, very subtle fruit notes and taste. Earthy, leathery with red fruits.
Passed our usual “test”…. we had to slow ourselves down from drinking it too fast 👌

Estate Bottled Gattinara Nebbiolo 2020

Three vineyard blend, Ruby color with a aromas of red fruit, earthy herbs, cedar and floral notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with notes of herb pepper, floral and earthy notes. Medium+ finish, good balance with fine tannins ending with cacao, leather, fruit and earthy notes. Ok now but a few more years will benefit. — a month ago

Etichetta Bianca (White Label) Carema Nebbiolo 2020

This is a beautifully elegant nebbiolo with generous aromatics, a silky smooth mouthfeel, and refined tannins providing just a touch of grip on the finish. Notes of cherry, mint, and white pepper come through on the nose, and on the palate additional flavors of cloves, orange zest, and violet add complexity. Finish Is moderately long, with lingering notes of spice, cherry, and bitter orange. This paired well with pan-seared duck breast and a port wine blueberry reduction sauce. Light/medium bodied with high acidity. — 2 months ago

Albe Barolo Nebbiolo 2022

This is consistently one of the best things you can get for $38. Gave it plenty of air, and it opened up beautifully. Chewy cherries, leather, and crushed rock. I guess that's how I'd describe lots of Barolos, but this is a fine specimen. Thanks for reminding me @Tom Casagrande

Earthy, dried rose petal, showing some dark brick color. Cork fully intact upon removal with Durand . Medium ++ body. Chewy grippy tannins. Immediate thought was this could go another 20 years! Little more fruit showing after 30 minutes open. Enjoying with a lamb shoulder roast and heirloom pumpkin hash. Happy Heavenly Birthday Karly! Hold ‘em if you got ‘em. Have a ‘15 and ‘18. I’ll be waiting much longer to open them. — 7 days ago

Brunate - Le Coste Barolo Nebbiolo 2001

From back when their fruit from the Le Coste MGA was blended with Brunate. These days, the Le Coste fruit goes in to “Tre Tine” along with Ravera and Cannubi San Lorenzo.

Opened about two hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2001 Brunate-Le Coste pours a garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Bing cherry, tar, roses, some varnish, cedar chest, some cool spices and gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and quite round. This bottle shows the generosity of the vintage and yet, it seems to want even more time in the cellar. One can certainly drink now through 2061.
