Vivid ruby. The bouquet is made of ripe red berries, cherry and lavender aromas, along with subtle licorice and white pepper flourishes. Broad, fleshy and appealingly sweet, showing juicy raspberry, cherry-cola and baking spice flavors and a touch of succulent herbs. Closes long and smooth, with discreet tannins and a strong floral note. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, January 2023) — 2 years ago
Limpid orange-pink. Lively, mineral-tinged red berry and orange zest scents, along with a building floral quality and a touch of succulent herbs. Dry, tight and lively in style, tangy redcurrant and tangerine flavors deepen slowly through the back half. Finishes on a repeating mineral note, with sharp definition and strong persistence. The 2019 La Fleur-Pétrus has an entrancing bouquet that demands your attention, delivering a mixture of red and black fruit, licorice, fresh fig and potpourri. The oak here is beautifully integrated. The palate is very harmonious, with ripe, succulent tannins that frame the concentrated black cherry and red plum fruit, and a dash of white pepper and sage, fanning out wonderfully toward the finish. It’s almost like a slightly toned-down version of the Hosanna. This exceeds my expectations. A brilliant Pomerol. (Neal Martin, Vinous, February 2022)

Pleasant at first pour but underpowered. Needed 45 minutes and decant to start. Improved over time. Darker red than I was expecting. Young wine and quite smooth. Some racy notes at the perimeter but more of an easy drinking succulent Nebbiolo than a brooding one. — 4 months ago
The 2019 Rosso Conero, 100% Montepulciano, mixes succulent red fruits with cracked stone mineral tones and spiced citrus. It’s soft in texture yet high in energy, impressive for its shear drinkability. A salty flourish combines with tart berries throughout. $22.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, September 2022) — 2 years ago
Rich ruby red with dark cherry, plum, mushrooms, and earthy. Smooth and succulent with stewed cherry and cedar flavors. Very nice! — 6 months ago
See previous notes 20 weeks ago and 79 weeks ago. My last bottle of the 2016 GS Applejack Pinot Noir. The pale colour belies the strength of the palate. Quite delicious in fact. . Applejack Vineyard probably my favourite of the Giant Steps Cuvées. Red fruited - succulent savoury red cherry. — 7 months ago
Last night we opened the 2019 Château Sérilhan Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois Supérior Médoc. Left Bank Bordeaux blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot by Doctor Alain Reynaud.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black raspberry, black currant, mint, licorice, pencil shavings, cedar and earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, green bell pepper, licorice, menthol, graphite and earth.
This is a beautiful medium to full bodied wine with a smooth succulent mouthfeel medium to medium+ acidity and medium + fine grained tannins that leaves you with a medium + to long dark fruit rich earth finish. Enjoy yourselves this weekend, have some fine wines with family and friends and please stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 3 years ago

Third wine from Angelus, wine is pale red with some purple. I think its because of merlot aging. On nose its plums, figs, oak with stronfg smokiness, tropical. On palate its so smooth, medium acidity, juicy, succulent, on intensity i think this wine already passed its peak. Should drink it like 3 years earlier. Still a good wine but if you want to try it, do it with younger wine. Cheers! — 8 days ago
