Gifted by my partner’s sister as a sweet & thoughtful surprise for our 6 month anniversary ♡ We are new to wine but have been spending our past few date nights just at home watching movies with an inexpensive bottle she recommended from our local grocery store (which we enjoy so much!). And to celebrate our anniversary, we did the exact same thing— except this time, with a bottle carefully chosen by a loved one from her own personal collection, who is THE wine lover!! Rudy & I both loved the taste of this one so much. I think it’s a great start for those like us who are getting into wine and have no idea about anything and just want something tasty, because now we know we like zinfandel blends! I’m not there yet with describing the taste of wine but I do really like the complexity of blends now and thought this tasted very clean and yummy (っ˘ڡ˘ς) Thank you Aimee!! Note: we also did homework on how the name originated! Very cool to know how the person who made this sold his popular zin blend & had to sign a clause that wouldn’t allow him to make anymore zin blends for 8 years- hence the 8 years in the desert :0 — 11 days ago
Riesling, not Gewurtztraminer. Very good Riesling from the finger lakes - Eli’s find. @Eli Barton — 10 days ago
Fairly serious Cab for the money; characteristic dark fruits - black currant in particular, good structure with balanced acidity, some menthol notes — a day ago
My gosh. Big, dark red. Velvet, soft, dark wonderful fruits. Slight touch on the tongue on the finish. Was wonderful with a marbled Wagyu — 8 days ago
Drinking very well right now (2024). Critical said to drink up but I found it still having strong fruit balancing the dirt. Reminded me of some lovely aged Bordeaux I've had in the past. I'd enjoy now or over the next few years if you're lucky enough to have any bottles. Cheers! — 17 days ago
