Bright Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruits, sweet spice and floral notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with spice, licorice and floral notes. Fine tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral spice and slight earthy character. — 18 days ago
At an Italian Restaurant on the Gold Coast having a nice pasta dish of Rigatoni with Lamb Shoulder. This wine by San Guido where their top Cuvée is the famous Sassicaia. This wine is 50/50 Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Oak maturation is well balanced using a combination of new and used oak. The nose shows obvious Cabernet traits and shows again how suitable Bolgheri is to Bordeaux blends - plummy notes. A good match with the dish. A dry finish. — a month ago
Nice Barolo with lots of limestone showing minerality and brightness. Still a little tight after 11 years, but it’s fantastic with a nice piece of beef. Floral on the nose with juicy choke cherry, leather, unsweetened coco, tobacco, raspberry preserves, and crushed blueberries on the palate. — 3 days ago
50% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 11% Petit Verdot. Refreshing on the nose with pink pepper and cypress berries aromas, which are reminiscent of the Mediterranean shrub. On tasting, the wine is elegant with a lovely acidity and an enduring and savoury finish. — 5 days ago
A great “uncork and pour” Toscana IGT Rosso, with a blend ratio of 51% Cab Sauv, 44% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. A truly traditional Bolgheri-styled super tuscan, known for versatile, bright and uplifting wines.
The v.2022 displays fruitier and juicy aromas on the nose driven by blackberries and cherry medley, with some peppy notes as well. The palate welcomes a fresh fruit-forward with medium-less textured tannins, once it opens for about 30 mins shows more subtle ripen red fruits and becomes smoother. Mouthfeel has a soft-end thanks to the MLF in steel tanks. However, the wine was aged for 10 months, partly in barriques used previously for its Ornellaia wines and partly in concrete tanks, to attain a nearly-perfect balance between the structure of its tannins and the fruit-forward expression.
Had this wine in a traditional “Trattoria-style” Ristorante known for Central Tuscany-cuisine. Simply Marvelous! — 15 days ago
Nectarine in color. Vegetal, hay, barn-y on the nose - a very surprising aroma. Round mouth feel with pleasant acidity. Getting some grapefruit and citrus and meringue on the back end. Complex wine that pairs wonderfully with a light, pasta primavera. — 18 days ago

Double-decanted several hours prior to dinner and subsequently enjoyed over the course of a few hours. The 2012 Classico pours a deep garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with ripe notes of red fruit: cherry cordial, candied nuts, red flowers, some leather, rich wood and some warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with high tannins and high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. A very good, albeit modern expression of Barolo from a solar vintage. Personally, I find pre-modernist Pio Cesare more exciting. Thanks Andy! Drink now with patience and through 2042. — 21 hours ago
