Medium ruby garnet , quite narrow terracotta rim . Quite aromatic , sous bois , dried rose , some spice , truffle . On the palate this is lean in style , with some dried rose , red fruits , liquorice and mint . Quite dry , gritty tannin , balanced acidity . Medium length , liquorice, dried rose finish . This wine is dark purple/garnet in the glass. The nose offers up considerable black fruit, such as blackberries, plums, and blackcurrant. It also offers up considerable oak effect, even though the wine’s exposure to wood was minimal. The oak comes through heavily on the palate as well, obscuring some nice dark fruit flavors. The artwork on the label is nice, but the artwork inside the bottle can’t live up to it. — a month ago

At Coci Northpark San Diego. The wine. Food excellent. Very very difficult to evaluate. I think they used too much oak on this. Ridiculous big and tannic even after 12 years. And after 90 minutes. I tough it is corked at first and even at 60min. Tobacco, cigar box. Touch cherry hint of prune plum. And better with a t-bone than with the light Italian food.I think they really overdid it to please - May be Robert Parker - at the time? Give it at least 2 hours to breathe before serving!!!! — 18 hours ago
