Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2018

9.2

So impressed with this $23 bottle. Drinks like $60, easily. Lovely aroma of soft caramel leads into baked apples on the mid palate. Nice ripe structure and acidity suggest this will continue as is for a few more years, but why wait? — a day ago

Dutton Ranch Chardonnay 2021

Opulent. Buttered popcorn, lemon curd and asian pear with an oily mouth feel. Round. Maintaining some acid with a bitter note on the finish, pretty classic California Chardonnay flavor profile. — a month ago

Art Series Margaret River Chardonnay 2011

Typical nose of an Art Series Chardonnay with that dried pear character. On the medium weight palate a nice combination of ripe grapefruit and under ripe yellow peach. Medium minus acid. One can’t help but love this Chardonnay. A wonderful terroir, the Gin Gin clone, great winemaking, and an excellent vintage - ticks all the boxes. At its peak but enough acid for a few more years if you wish. That was my last bottle of the 2011. — 3 months ago

@Doug Powers Yes Doug. A good spot for lunch as well where you can get some seriously aged Art Series Chardonnay to go with your fresh WA Marron. Mouth watering just thinking about that.

Eastside Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2015

Improved over previous tasting 3 years ago.

Double decant and pour. A light cloudy gold color. On the nose: mellow notes of Lemon, tangerine, banana, nutmeg, grapefruit. Taste: A chalky-creamy, rich mouthfeel wine with pear, lemon rind, little stone fruit, white pepper, oak, and a tropical minerally wet stone medium plus finish.

I assume you acquired this via allocation direct from the winery?

x Yep, was on their allocation for around 8 years. My final vintage was the 2019. Great chardonnays though a little expensive. Cheers!

Bacigalupi Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Still delicious and has changed less with age than I expected. Not sure if I should have sat on it longer. It has gotten nuttier with hazelnut becoming more prominent. Still a lot of oak and lemon, with a touch of flint and brioche. It’s — a month ago

Foss Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Drinking Pinot for Thanksgiving from a vineyard 4 miles away is pretty special! Aged a few years before opening shows a little bricking at the edges with a pale red with orange hue to the color. Big nose bursts forth out of the glass with peppery notes of spiced red fruits, plum and strawberry perhaps, with a slight floral element throughout. The Medium body brings on pleasant notes of vanilla and baking spice, with slight tannin, big plum and ripe red fruits, a hint of brandy and a refined floral element to the finish. — a month ago

Medium lemon color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits and nutty toasty notes. On the palate flavors of peach, citrus and pear with vanilla and flinty notes, creamy texture. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, nuts, toasty oak and savory citrus character. Nice! — 3 months ago

Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019

We had the 2019 Vintage on 8/4-5/24. A fantastic RRV PN. Black cherry, black raspberry, Cinnamon, baking spice and cola. Medium bodied with a wonderful mouth feel. Smoothed out tannins with a nice finish. Would definitely buy more. I like this more than their single vineyard offerings — 5 months ago
