1982 vintage. From magnum. Decanted for approx 3 hours before tasting. Better color than expected. Good amount of sed on the decant. Decent amount of color along with a light body. Nose not overwhelmingly fantastic but respectable. Plenty of cocoa flavor along with tobacco spices on the finish. Pretty solid concentration remaining. This was in the maximized pleasure zone but feeling it being closer to the end than the start of the zone. Out of maggie, maybe another 4-5 really nice years. From a 750ml example? Thinking drinking now. 3.2.23. — 2 years ago
2014 vintage. Big graphite and iron nose. Intense and muscular. Medium-bodied. Complimentary fruit cradled by ridiculous tannins. Grippy and rambunctious. JC Superstar. Till 2048 at least. Not even close to entering “the zone” but so much promise once the tumblers fall into place. 10.21.23. — a year ago
Blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits and notes of herb spice and earthy notes. On the palate flavors of black cherry and blackberry with tobacco, dried herbs and cacao notes. Long finish, fine tannins, nice acidity, ending with fruit, tobacco, oak and cacao notes. — 3 years ago
Enjoyed another bottle more in 2022, maybe not aging well in the closet ($37), but still very nice with Pat’s grilled steak. Dense, full bodied and a bit of sediment. — 6 months ago
Preferred the Readers 2019, but we didn’t decant this bottle and probably should have ($37). — a year ago
Always say around 5 years post disgorgement is the happy zone for Selosse. This beauty, disgorged in July of 2018 with the coveted 2008 being its youngest vintage, was an absolute stunner. Substance is the Selosse flagship that uses a solera style blend with vintages dating all the way back to 1986. It has explosive aromatics that you really don’t get from Champagne. It’s infinitely layered with crazy depth to its aromatics and has such a singular texture that you just can’t forget. Caramelized orchard fruit, roasted hazelnuts, coffee beans and lavender honey waft from the glass. It wraps around the palate with incredible volume and intensity before giving way to a salty mineral laced finale with stunning length and persistence. The best. — 2 years ago

Fantastic half bottle. Definitely in the zone now. Ripe fruit harmoniously weaved and great structure. Thoroughly impressive. — 17 days ago
