Pretty flippin’ serious wine. Rich (for a wine that was probably picked around 20 brix) but not enough for it to be cloying or heavy. Flavors are not particularly fruity; some hazelnut and lemon oil that will probably go to that fermenty hay character with some bottle age. There’s some noticeable tannin too, some of which I think is wood-derived but it gives the wine grip. The weight (alcohol x ph x acid) is perfect. White burgundy was my favorite wine in the world and I’m spending my dollars and cellar space on OR Chardonnay because you’d spend a lot of money to get something this good from Burgundy. — 17 days ago
Pop and pour WOW. Old world dried flowers on the nose. Elegant on the palate with balance of acidity and soft tannins - that linger on the front and middle of the tongue. More layers of flavors than I can describe with roses, mixed berries, clove, leather, tobacco, etc., and none were dominant. What a pleasant surprise. — 12 days ago
This feels a step behind the 2020 but is an excellent reminder of the value presented by great dry riesling. This wine is hard to find and rightly so….its a massive and ripe Riesling in a full body style. This wine to me was teetering the on the edge of over ripeness, but nonetheless had wonderful tropical and honeyed fruits. The typical minerality was present, but that took a back seat. My only critique is that it lacked a little focus and some of the linearity I’ve experienced with other vintages from this producer. Much much better on day 2 - this has a long life ahead. Equal to or greater in drinking experience than white burgundy 2-3x the price (albeit a different experience) — 17 days ago
Dark ruby coloration. On the nose, dark cherry , ripe plum, vanilla, forest floor, oak, leather, truffle, spice, chocolate. On the palate, full bodied and elegant. Complex with an Extensive finish. Cherry, dark berry, vanilla, balsamic, spice, oak, gravel/minerals/forest floor then chocolate takes over. Long finish. — 18 days ago

Slightly deeper ruby with a little narrower , less garnet rim . This is quite deep and slightly more herbal on the nose, floral perhaps , a little more austere. Spicy Cassis , tobacco , herbal touches . On the palate this is slightly more velvety with a riper dark fruits , mixed with a touch of dark cherry , spice and subtler , riper tannin . Quite ripe , more polished tannin. A bit bigger and riper in style , alcohol a bit more noticeable . Quite good dark cherry , dark chocolate, cassis finish . This is a little more polished , but probably needs a little more time , better in 5 years and will last well a further 10 . Overall a good showing , a classy , polished performance — 11 days ago
