La Mekerra Knights Valley Cabernet Franc-Merlot Blend

51% CF, 49%ME. Enjoyed the wine & blend. For me, these wines are a bit rough when young but smooth out nicely with age. — 3 years ago

Penfolds

Bin 389 South Australia Cabernet Shiraz 2020

Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (51%) and Shiraz (49%). Dark Ruby color with purple highlights. Aromas and flavors of cassis, blueberry, eucalyptus, black licorice, bergamot, dark chocolate, violets and blackberry. Hint of roasted nuts on the expansive finish. Wonderful purity of fruit and a very soft texture for such a young wine. Incredibly well balanced. This wine will only improve with age. Taking @Bob McDonald’s advice and investing in more of this beautiful wine and laying them down in the cellar for a decade. A great example of how Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah are fantastic blending partners. Thanking you so much Keith S for sharing this wonderful bottle with us. — 4 months ago

Reserve Rocksteady Proprietary Red Blend 2015

This is a delicious Merlot blend from Napa Valley.

Full-bodied with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate and very fruity.

Showing red and black fruits with oak, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn, herbs, earth and coffee.

Tangy finish with big tannins.

Needed 3 hours to open up properly.

Spicy and entertaining. I really enjoyed it.

A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with BBQ Meats.

A blend of 49% Merlot, 18% Syrah, 15% Petit Verdot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

15% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

Low Profile Red Blend 2018

Didn’t take notes at the time, but this was an interesting blend of Syrah (49%) with Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre that was dark and brambly with notes of coffee and Turkish delight. Tim Atkin’s likening of this to a Crozes Hermitage / Dao hybrid is an apt take. — 3 years ago
