A gentleman told me that he and I would always be friends. We shared a plate of cherries and drank this wine while watching a sunrise. I never saw him again. — 3 months ago
Delicious, tropical fruits and florals, great richness and acidity, even a little nutty. Developed nicely 2 hours after opening, lots of layers — 5 months ago
A rich golden color and medium body, the wine is young, but already showing maturity and refinement. A strong nose of yellow/golden fruit compote or pie filling, peach cobbler I think, with a hint of cinnamon, white grape juice (from concentrate), and maybe some hint of leeks towards the edges. The palate is silky smooth, creamy, with energy though pulsing between the notes of whipped cream, rich yellow fruit spread, but also some mineral dryness to the edges, and a finish of dried apricot and peach. I’d let this age a few years, let that sweetness smooth out, and then relish in its refinement. — 5 days ago
Different, serious, less of a structured discussion and more of a Hunter S. Thomson missive. Paired well with salted raw corn. — 3 months ago
Boys weekend in Detroit.
A very lifted expression of burgundy. So much focus and separation on the mid palate. Waxy lemons define the texture on the palate, which then combine with white fruits. Superb length on the finish. Moderate acidity and delicate sweetness bring home a wonderful experience from start to finish.
Even better on day two. — a month ago
Gorgeous wine and so classic in 21. Nose is granitic and dusty with some lovely red currant and licorice. Gamey, meaty and so deep. Really terrific aromas. Smells like Cote Rotie and it is within spitting distance. Palate is very 21. Mostly red fruits with some minor black ones and a classic, grippy almost Cru Bourgeois type structure. Juicy and serious for such a humble price. Pre tariff we were $19.99 a case. Very 21 and very lean. Big tannins and actually needs maybe 3-5 years of age. After 5 hours this is soft and lush and has gone from 9.0 to 9.1. Really came together. — 3 months ago
bone-dry finish mellowed by the ripe-apricot character, plus hints of toast and melted butter. — 4 months ago
