Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2005

2005 vintage. Great fill and cork. Decanted and tasted after two hours. Small amount of chunky and powdery sed. Nose a bit musty but never funky during a high decant. Medium-heavy body. Tremendous power throughout. Can easily go another two decades. Still packing the signs of youth such as individual flavors easily evident vs melded/integrated ones. Tasted more like a 2020 vintage. Was hoping for more black tea, espresso, orange citrus peel, soy sauce notes (and there were some). This one's gonna need a bigger boat...er...another 7-8 years or a 5 hour decant to shed some of that overt power in a trade off for nuance. Delicious in its own way but not easy. Demanding. 04.04.25. — a day ago

Clos de Tart Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2011

Great expressive red fruit, hints of a sunset in the farm. Taking the age well this 2011. Acidity is remarkable. — 2 days ago

Cherry confit nose with balsamic violets. Soy attack. Some energy and firm tannin (from oak?). Beautiful finish. — 8 days ago

Domaine Georges Roumier

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2016

There’s village Burgundy and then there’s Roumier Chambolle-Musigny! 2016 is in a perfect spot, ushering in secondary complexity at age nine in a captivating perfume synonymous with the Domaine, and a structured, but silky mineral inflicted palate with fine grained tannins. Roumier always hits 🫰🏻 — 8 days ago

La Tâche Pinot Noir

Perfect bottle in decanter for dinner at Chez TJ. We did initially enjoy a sparkling and half bottle of a Meursault to give some time and the aromatics of this was quite possibly one of the best ever! Loved the complexity but it still has a long road ahead! — 8 hours ago
