Comte Armand

Clos des Epeneaux Monopole Pommard 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

So much going on this, but most notable is the pronounced savory cola note on the mid plate, maybe more time will subdue it and elevate it. Great wine balanced and earthy. — 16 days ago

Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1999

Slow over for two hours then 30 minutes in the fridge then one hour in the decanter and served for dinner. Got more elegant as time passed. Classic Musigny — 13 days ago

Côte-Rôtie Syrah 2012

Another great btl from this vintage showing dark fruits, iron, black olive, pepper, smoked meat, glycerin, dried herbs, spice & violets. This will age effortlessly the next 20 years. — 15 days ago

Beautifully balanced with pronounced red fruit and distinct tannic structure. Only purple, red color with a nice acidity to complement red meat. A great wine now that can easily cellar for many years. — 2 days ago

Domaine Coche-Dury (J.F. Coche Dury)

Meursault Chardonnay 2004

Served blind. I nailed the vintage, even a broken clock is right twice a day. A spectacular nose of smoke, flowers and a dose of reduction. In the mouth, intensity and freshness . Minerals & green fruit that reminded me of Chablis to start but no way given the weightlessness. Waves of crisp fruit with exceptional balance. Most producers would be happy to make a premiere cru or grand cru of this quality. It might be an overused descriptor or cliché, but this was all about pureness. According to my friend purchased on release, and locked away. A reminder of how important proper storage is. — 24 days ago
