Poggio Antico

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Nice but was hoping for a bit more refinement and balance. 15% which comes through only a bit. Still some rusticity. But the overall quality of the fruit is high. Would give it a couple more years at least. — 2 months ago

Tenuta Col d'Orcia

Poggio al Vento Riserva Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2015

One of the best Italian wines I've had recently. Deep, juicy cherry and plum notes dominate. Well-rounded, elegant. Great with some chocolate or a lighter pasta dish with lean meat. — 2 months ago

Poggio San Polo

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2013

The 2013 vintage enjoyed Classic cool weather, and the 2013 San Polo reveals what old time Brunellos were like prior to global warming. It is medium bodied, colorful, with persistent fruit and underbrush aromatics; flavorsome, balanced, crisp and energetic with refined tannins. Lovely wine. — 19 days ago

Castello di Ama

Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2022

Nice Chianti with dried cherry aromas and heavy black and red pepper on the red fruits. Spicy, but calms down over time. With linguine, tomato sauce and meatballs. Great kickoff to ski week in Breckenridge! — 2 months ago
