@Mike Evans I have not had one in a very long time Oak toned down?
@Ira Schwartz The oak wasn’t too prominent, which was surprising since I’ve historically found Kongsgaard Chards to be too heavy and oaky for my taste. This one was much more balanced with good acidity, really enjoyable. I don’t know if it is a change in style or an outlier but I hope for the latter since I have friends on the list who subject me to Kongsgaard from time to time.

Golden hay color. Banana, peach, pineapple, honey, apple, pear on the nose. Rich and buttery on the palate. Lychee, vanilla, cream. Distinct palate, but I prefer a less oaky chard. — 10 months ago

Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay 2014
2014 in 2022. Aromas of burnt caramel popcorn and of course vanilla. Sharply smooth with lots of ML, surprised how much I love this as I don’t usually love super oaky Chard. Funky, doesn’t taste like any I’ve ever had, lemon curd shining through. — 3 years ago

The “King of Chardonnay” Mike Grgich farms w/o pesticides and certified organic. Aged 10 months, no MLF. Medium lemon color with aromas of ripe stone & citrus fruits. On the palate flavors of apple, apricot & citrus flavors, with honeysuckle & toasty oak notes. Good balance with acidity on medium+ finish ending with mineral notes.
