I couldn’t pass up picking up a bottle of the “Sideways” 20th anniversary bottling of Hitching Post’s Highliner. Aside from the movie recognition, it’s a damn good Pinot, though a bit heavier in style than others. Vivid, fresh flavors of cranberry and cherry with a bit of spice. Delicious. A great representation of an extremely approachable Syrah from Santa Barbara county. Medium-to-full-bodied, rounded and elegant, all red fruits on the nose concours to the palate from beginning to the very end. Medium tannins, some spices and wet woods are easily noticed. One of the best american Rieslings out there. The Riesling was planted in 2007. Kick On Ranch is just a few miles West of Los Alamos (CA) , getting close to the ocean and Vandenberg Air Force Base. 120 cases. 13.5%. Plenty of acidity, 🍯 , botyris? , fresh cut garden hose. Quite herbal. Oregano. Tatomer’s top of the line offer. He learned the trade in Austria 🇦🇹, Wachau region. This 2019 is very very good.
