Worked at Keller and Wittmann.

Wow. Pop and pour: wanted to see the energy up front, but will follow over a couple of days. On the nose: amazing intensity; electric lemon, ripe peach, stone for days, maybe even a hint of reduction. On the palate: acidity is crackling with intensity. Reminds me up front of 2021 Wittmann, but the elegance reigns supreme with some time open. This is extremely youthful now, but spectacular. — 3 years ago
Why do I take gambles on Chardonnay when wines like this are so reliable and nerves of steel. — 4 years ago
Great value. German Riesling tipicity, an exuberant nose of white flowers (acacia, jasmin), a hint of honey and gas. Light bodied and Juicy acidity, most pleasant. — 4 years ago
Baked apple, pear, lemon candy, dried apricot, candied citron and hints of oak. Great acidity and balance. — 6 months ago
The basic Pinot offering from Wittmann. This beats out lots of entry level stuff from France and the US imo, and is far cheaper. I think German Pinot is where the best qpr is for me right now. Raspberry, cherry, violets, forest floor on the nose; more cherry and raspberry on the palate; cranberry also; good balance of acidity, fruit, and tannin; decent length. A balanced wine if not overly complex. — 2 years ago
Quite punchy and rough, sweetness is there but very high acidity and quite thin sharp expression of oily notes makes it feel young and energetic — 3 years ago
This is ridiculously good, although fairly simple.
Lemon and lemon zest on the nose, white peach, some very subtle petroly notes too. The palate is very acid driven but in a good way. The acid drive is massive as one could expect with dry German rieslings, but the palate is very balanced, with lemony touches, and even lemon curd. There is a tiny bit of bitterness toward the end, reminiscent of the zesty scents that blossomed on the nose. It's not complex, it's certainly not a great wine, but it's very well done and gives instant, true to type pleasure. Organic wine. — 4 years ago
Actually slightly disappointing for a (Roulot) '14. Drank alongside a '14 Wittmann Aulerde GG, and paired with a pasta with morel and green onion (light) cream sauce. Riper nose than I expected on a '14, with very, very soft noble reduction, but good minerality and lemon. In a very good place, but the Aulerde was the better pairing with the food by a longshot. Good density, but slightly thin on the finish. I think I preferred the '13 edition to this one... — 5 years ago
Jul 2025: very nice, delivers, but not as much as in most reviews — 3 years ago
Expressive nose of white flowers, ananas, and lemon. Sweet attack, felt a bit bubbly, high acid, delicious for the price. — 4 years ago

8.9-9; clean, fresh, simple orchard fruits with the creamy texture I expect from this varietal. For 16 usd the value pushes it to 9 for me. — a month ago
