Nose: closed very faint pink roses.
Palate: silky. Elegant richness. Massively juicy fruit. Contained density. Hint of elegant cassis. — 15 hours ago
This is a powerhouse Nerello. Tannic, dark, red fruit but primarily darker fruit. Good acidity, smoky and complex. This is built for long aging. Delicious! — 3 months ago
!00% Nerello Mascalese, Single Contrada from a favorite Sicilian Producer. This isn’t the typical lighter, easy drinking Nerello. This has body, weight and complexity. Darker fruit: black cherry, blackberry, raspberry, smoke, with tannins and acidity. Definitely capable of aging but I have a hard time time not drinking them! — 10 months ago
Don’t like Chardonnay? That won’t matter with this wine. It is grassier, more citrusy and more herbaceous than your average Chard. Volcanic soil and judicious oak aging does the trick. Great summer or cold weather wine. — 7 days ago
Would never guess this in a blind tasting. Apparently he’s trying to create “the Burgundy of Sicily”. I see the connection but much drier and tannic than a Burgundy pinot. But still nice fruit character. Got better with air. — 2 months ago
2012 in Nov '24....KL grab from Cali days. Wild spice, herbal aromatics. 15%alc was well behaved. Rdl burg stem but the AP gave it more mid palate weight. Lovely. Btl 1 on pizza night — 4 months ago
Nose: blackberry flowers. Intense.
Palate: slightly tart blackberry fruit. Clean. Bright. A very well made simple wine. Grippy.
Long finish. — 15 hours ago
2021 vintage. Hints of richness throughout but never a safe space. Ultimately lean with a massive tannic howdoyoudo but always balanced. This wine will challenge most palates to the moon and beyond. Pretty phenomenal for QPR, yet so distinctive, thinking the general wine public needs a solid two decades to grasp. Screams for food except for the cork dorks that would gobble this up 8 days a week. Oh Sicily! 11.20.24. — 3 months ago

Drinking wonderfully now. Enough freshness and body to last another 5, maybe 10 years. — 13 days ago
