Popped in poured; no formal notes. The 2020 Pithos Rosso is, to my palate, a lovely Sicilian alternative to Beaujolais. Delicious, refreshingly fruity and just a touch wild. Sufficient structure to provide enjoyment for the near term, but I would just as well drink now. I really enjoy these wines. — a month ago

Deep red and cherry/red fruit, light black pepper at back (14%,+/-2) — 19 hours ago
Almost port-like nose of dried plums or cherries, a little funky and earthy on the palate, some leather and horse blanket mixed with the dried cherry and a medium tannin and pretty bright for a red. Medium body and long finish. Deep garnet hue and was still good chilled. — 3 days ago
Notes of licorice and tobacco. Opened up beautifully. Lovely wine! — 24 days ago

Medium ruby with quite a terracotta , garnet rim . Quite sweetly spiced nose , red cherries , cedar , dried spice and some strawberry coulis , earthy undertones . Pretty young and fruit forward at the moment . This is quite elegant and perfumed on the palate with lots of fresh red fruits , cedar and dried sage . Balanced acidity and ripe but slightly grippy tannins . This has good length and a saline finish . Quite young still but enjoyable at the moment , will continue to show well over the next 10 years , maybe more. At Doppo restaurant, Soho . — 7 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2021 pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of black cherry purple flowers, and rocky earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finishes medium. Easy to enjoy with a variety of fare. Drink now through 2031. — 2 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2020 Siccagno pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of blackberry, black cherry, pomegranate, dry leaf tobacco, wood varnish, and volcanic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium. This is a fresh, if not slightly volatile Siccagno but it was lovely with cappellacci on a warm summer day. Drink now through 2035. — 10 days ago
