ST Stone Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

This one has evolved very well and exceeded my expectations. Rich tannins and well integrated oak complement the juicy cherry and berry flavored palate. Chocolate and tobacco round out a great finish. — 4 months ago

Cliff Lede Vineyards

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of rich berry fruit, floral and slight spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and blueberry with floral spice, warm integrated vanilla oak and earthy cinnamon. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice, vanilla oak and soft earthy notes, nice now, will still develop. A nice fillet mignon with Cabernet gravy will go well. — 2 months ago

Ok, 2014s turning 10 so gonna be exploring these. RP says 2014s are ready so bring it on!
Fantastic nose. It doesn’t jump out of the glass like TRB’s 4 winds from last weekend (I could smell that forever) but this one is a statement of elegance. Violets, black fruit, graphite, and mocha.
Great mouthfeel at the beginning. Fruit is wonderful, chocolate, but I will say that I’m here too early. Tannin sticking out - a little greenness to the tannin as well. Ends with drying pucker. I was hoping I’d be past that on 10th birthday. Just speaks to a better rating in the future. Would think 3-5 years until another one?

Chateau Montelena

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2017

I haven’t had a lot of experience with Napa Valley Chardonnay but this was most enjoyable. Rich and mouth filling, creamy. Stone fruit and almonds. Barb said white flowers on the nose. Apparently this was picked early and malolactic fermentation was blocked. Oak influence is totally integrated - balanced. I paid $147 AUD in Brisbane in September 2021. A lot dearer than what you might pay in the States I would guess. — 3 months ago

It is those Aussie US import-export fees. We were going to ship some Standish back to the States from the property and when Standish called us and said the shipping/import fees were are much as the three bottles, we passed. They’re not that had to find here.
