Dolomiti Schiava 2023

Reductive and farmy fresh, likely too much for many. Pinot adjacent but with more herbal undertones. Schiava is typically trained Pergola. Also called Vernatsch and Trollinger. Nice packaging and sub $20 on the shelf. Organic. — 4 months ago

Porer Tenutae Lageder Pinot Grigio 2021

2021 vintage.
100 % Pinot Grigio. Biodynamicly grown.
Founded 1823 , they have 140 acres under vine.
Bright straw yellow colour.
Ripe apple, melon and pear..
Savoury, earthy, rich and complex.
Dried herbs and rich textures .
One part pressed immediately, another part kept15 hours on skin contact and the rest in contact with stems and skins for 1 year.
This is not a simple Pinot Grigio.
It needs food.

Südtirol-Alto Adige DOC Riserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Smooth, dry and mild. A leather and coffee, an oak. Very good. My third wine from this producer and I prefer pinot noir. — 3 years ago

Tenutæ Lageder Porer Südtirol-Alto Adige DOC Pinot Grigio 2019

This wine is a much more complex Pinot Grigio than typical. It has a mix of fruit flavors including peach and citrus that are not typical of most Pinot Grigios. A top quality Pinot Grigio. — 2 years ago

Terra Alpina Dolomiti Pinot Bianco 2022

Pretty good chardonnay-type wine, well balanced, not too zippy. This would be great on a hot day. — 8 months ago

Riserva Mimuèt Alto Adige Pinot Noir 2018

Red fruit sweetness (nose), but: it's very dry, high acidity (obvious). Leather and dark chocolate made this pinot. Very good.
My second pinot from this producer. Previous: 2017.

Tenutæ Lageder Römigberg Alto Adige Kalterersee Classico 2017

This is what Vernatsch is all about!
Light (11.5% alc) and crystal clean yet quite expressive with cherries and plumes and cranberries. There’s also a whiff of lemon peel and a stony, herby undertone.
Crisp & light on the palate and very, very juicy with a pinch of herby spice and a mineral backbone. Despite all it’s lightness this has loads of precision, character & personality. Love it!!
