This remains one of the greatest white dry wines of France although probably not for everybody. Every year is a surprise and that inconsistency can be off-putting. Orange tinged pale golden colour. Excellent pure nose of apricot, iodine and spices. Unctuous on the palate yet supported by a great backbone of acidity. Great depth of flavour and very satisfying length. A great wine by any standard. — 15 days ago
Orange tinged gold colour . Very fruit driven still , lots of yellow fruits , crystallised orange peel , clementines , vanilla , spiced apricots . On the palate quite rich and decadent , lots of ripe yellow fruits , apricot , peach and then mandarin and caramelised orange . Touches of honey , vanilla , creme brûlée. Slightly bitter caramel tinged finish , with good vibrant acidity, balanced alcohol , long and elegant finish . Tastes so young still , maybe having been recorked in 2005 has something to do with that . Drinking well now but will still be perfect in another 20-30 years — 4 months ago
Terrific example of a high quality Sauternes with lemon zest, peach, apricot and pineapple plus dried apricot, honey, beeswax, saffron, ginger, vanilla and butterscotch. Excellent acidity to balance the restrained sweetness of the wine. Still young with plenty of room to develop. — 3 months ago
A major leap here. Clean and crisp. Some skin contact. But this is not your average Orange wine. Filtered lightly. No sediment at all! Apricot, mandarine, plenty of acid, big and broad with a lot of body. A little more rustic then their new top of the line whites with new labels. — 4 months ago
The 2013 Comtes de Champagne is a towering Champagne, as it was last year. Rich, sumptuous and explosive, the 2013 soars out of the glass with a captivating mix of tropical fruit, apricot, passion fruit, baked apple tart, mint and yellow flowers.
