Bold & juicy - yum! — 4 months ago
Stags' Leap Winery was one of the early pioneers in establishing Petite Sirah as a premium varietal. The vines date back to 1893, but the block is actually a field blend of 85% Petite Sirah and 15% other unknown varietals.
Our group tasted the 1977 - 1992 vintages (32 to 47 years old). The 1977 was my favorite along with the group’s. — 23 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Spicy nose with black fruits, chocolates and light cedar.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with black cherries, sweet raspberries, plums, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, light alcohol, peppercorn, espresso and chocolates.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cranberries.
This young Zinfandel from Oakville is starting to drink nicely now. Spicy and rich. Elegant and fruit forward. I really enjoyed the nose at this point.
A very interesting wine, as the nose shows black fruits, while red fruits dominate the palate.
This Single Vineyard Zinfandel will continue to age nicely in the next 7 to 10 years.
Good right out of the bottle and good by itself or with food.
100% Zinfandel grapes were aged for 14 months in American and Hungarian oak barrels. Only 25 barrels produced.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Deep, dark Ruby with a big fruity nose and lots of ripe berries with oaky notes. Jammy big and bold blackberry flavors with some spice, cacao, cedar and leather notes with nice mouthfeel. Big fine tannins with berry fruit carried over to the finish with oak and sweet spice. Nice! — a month ago
