2020 was the last vintage produced under Groupama ownership, as the estate was sold in April 2021 to Gerald Jicquel (the Beautiful Life Group , that also owns Fourcas-Dupré). While it is an attractive, smooth Haut-Médoc, it lacks a bit of concentration, especially if compared to some of its peers in this great vintage ( like the Barreyres 2020 I've tasted yesterday). But a nice drink in any case. Abv. 13%. — 4 months ago
31 years old and still looks juvenile. No signs of evolution. First nose packed with red fruits and violet. Not very long, medium bodied, but so inviting ! — a year ago
Ruby , with a ruby pink rim . Slightly cooler , tobacco , grafite edged Summer fruits, with red cherry and spicy blackberry, cassis . Blackcurrant , spicy red cherry , some grafite , tobacco hints . A little drier and more linear on the palate than the Lalande Borie , but also shorter and a little less complex on the medium minus finish . Drink now and over the next 5-8 years . — a year ago
Oak, traditional Bordeaux. Oak and Leather. 10 years, rounded , good to drink. Matured black currant, cherry etc. Domaine Francois-Xavier Borie Pauillac Red Blend Bordeaux 2013 @1800(300/G), T Enoteca, 230225 — 3 years ago
Robust red with black fruit and heady wafts of heath-land shrubs and pepper on the nose. Very full palate of ripe and powerful dense black fruit and berry flavours. — 4 years ago
Perfect tasting red. Beautiful flavor explosion on the tongue — 5 years ago
vintage 1957 | For me, thé surprise in a line up of old vintages. A smell I would like to explore for a whole evening. | Because it was unknown to me, I did some research, the family Borie bought the domaine in 1932. After the dead of Marcel Borie in 1961 the chateau stopped as such and parcels were added to Château Haut Batailley. la Couronne as name has been used as a brand afterwards. — a month ago

Château Fourcas Dupré – 2021
Listrac-Médoc – Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷
Overview
A Left Bank classic from Listrac-Médoc, where gravelly soils meet clay-limestone for structured, age-worthy wines. The estate’s V.2021 blend is comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon 54%, Merlot 45% and Petit Verdot 1%. 2021 was a challenging, cooler vintage, producing fresher, leaner profiles with elegant structure.
Aromas & Flavors
Black cherry, cassis, and blackberry, layered with notes of cedar, tobacco leaf, graphite, and a hint of violet.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with firm yet polished tannins, good freshness, and a mineral-driven edge. This vintage leans more classic and restrained compared to riper recent years.
Food Pairings; Roast lamb with rosemary, duck breast, entrecôte bordelaise. Beef stew, cassoulet, mushroom ragout. Tomme de Savoie, aged Gouda, firm sheep’s milk cheeses.
Verdict
A terroir-driven Médoc showing the cooler vintage’s hallmark freshness and precision. While not as plush as warmer years, it’s beautifully balanced, approachable now, and may develop nicely over the next decade. Cheers!
Did You Know?
Château Fourcas Dupré traces its roots back to 1843 and has long been a benchmark for the Listrac-Médoc appellation, often referred to as the “Pomerol of the Médoc” thanks to its higher Merlot proportion compared to its Left Bank neighbors.

Some historical stuff I found online,
The Chateau Caronne Ste. Gemme property has been making wine since the French Revolution and has existed since the mid 1600's. Now in the hands of the Nony family, who is related to the Borie family of multi-chateau fame, the estate is in excellent hands.
The vines average about thirty years of age and are located in the southwest corner of Saint Julien. The grapes are fermented in cement vats where they also undergo malolactic fermentation. From there they're aged in one third new French oak for one year before bottling. — 4 years ago
Ten years in the bottle - and it's enough I suppose. A plum or plum jam, smoke, leather. Silky tannins, medium and pleasant acidity. — 5 months ago
Lovely day! — 9 months ago
Oak, fruity, clove, nutmeg, anise. Vanilla. Creamy. Black fruits. Slightly tannic, but 9 years vintage, so relatively gentle. Good to drink. Château Fourcas Hosten Les Cedres d’ Hosten Listrac Medoc 16 @1800, F, 250704 — a year ago
