I’m in the 91+ territory here, but this is an older NV and the age pushes this up just a touch.

From 375. Easy for my wife and I to enjoy while our two littles run around on NYE.

After the Mousse Fils L’Or d’Eugene rosé from a few days ago, this is totally different. Much more classical versus the unique Mousse. Pale copper colored in the glass. Lots of similarities to Charles Heidsieck’s Brut Reserve rosé with its strawberry shortbread and toasty layers, but the fruit isn’t as layered. Slightly chalk/limestone initially but gives way to Spiced rhubarb, red berries, white peach and an orange marmalade finish (maybe dosage peeking out as well as the age helping channel some depth and richness). — 6 months ago

Interesting this can be up to 96% Chardonnay. They trade Chardonnay fruit for Pinot to make this. Franck Bonville only grows Chardonnay. 5 grams dosage.

It has excellent mousse and racy acidity. Better depth than the two previous cuvées.

Strawberries, cherries, very light black raspberries, touch of orange citrus, pink grapefruit, their is a tanginess here, nice soft chalkiness & volcanics, saline, sea fossils, white spice, yeast, baguette crust, cheesecake, pink flowers/roses, excellent acidity, nicely balanced with good tension and a nicely polished finish that last a minute.

This is the youngest in the mix and most of the base wine is from 2021…a year filled with weather issues from start to finish. Don’t think you’ll see many producers make a vintage cuvée.

Enjoyed two glasses of this 2020 Rosé, which had been opened by a friend two days prior. In the glass, the wine is a deep salmon color with more pale, pinkish rim. On the nose, ripe strawberry, Trader Joe’s Thai lime and chili almonds, watermelon, dried green herbs, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium and there was a very nice, silky texture. This was quite charming and the Thai lime component I found to be especially interesting. This drinks well now and should continue to do so through 2030. — 2 months ago
