Slow over for two hours then 30 minutes in the fridge then one hour in the decanter and served for dinner. Got more elegant as time passed. Classic Musigny — a month ago
Been awhile since I have had this…a good revisit. I’m sure my historical notes on this still stand.
My cherry tomatoes are in full streaming mode. So good. Especially, with burrata.
Try this with your garden cherry tomatoes or ones from the farmers market. Slice in halves, drizzle nicely but not over w/ olive oil, squeeze some fresh lemon, add Maldon salt to taste and fresh basil strips. Mix & let stand 10-15 before enjoying. It is the most authentic presentation of Italian cuisine I have known outside Italy. — a month ago

Beautiful intense fruit. Plum and a saline blue fruit thing. Savory and restrained. Good balance. Excellent — 18 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours and alongside Boulard’s “Corcelette” from 2014. The 2022 “Cuvée Corcelette” from Foillard pours a deep garnet color with medium viscosity and moderate staining of the tears. On the nose the wine is developing with notes of wild strawberries, freshly cut roses, tarragon, licorice, blood orange, and a new bar of Irish Spring. It’s definitely a touch mousy but well within the acceptable range for me. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, fresh and so Foillard. Drink now through 2042. — 2 months ago

From the oldest vines in Clos de la Roilette, the “Cuvée Tardive” is a special example of Fleurie. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of two days. Consistent throughout, though it seemed to be a touch more balanced on Day 2. The 2022 “Cuvée Tardive” pours a deep ruby, with a slightly purple tinge and a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of black cherry, pomegranate, black plum, red carnations, lavender pastilles, licorice, incense, and granite. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finishes medium+. Ripe and yet remains so fresh! Drink now through 2037. — 3 days ago
