A nice, easy drinking Côtes du Rhône. Typical red and black fruit, a hint of black pepper, sauvage on the nose. Black fruit with meaty flavors on the palate; good acidity and length; moderate 14 abv. Balanced. A good pairing with a pretty spicy lamb Rogan Josh. — 11 days ago

Hard to properly rate, was not decanted and not open long enough. Deep red & black fruit on the nose. The tannins are quite strong, this still needs time. It’s too young. But a lot of complexity under that. — 8 months ago

2013 vintage. Nice fill. Excellent cork. No Durand needed. Decanted with some sed and tasted multiple times over the course of two hours. Origin story medium-heavy body now a light-medium body but with zero loss of color intensity. Primary flavors completely evacuated with secondary and tertiary flavors rushing in to fill the nature-abhorred vacuum. Initially, pretty bretty and likely too much for many...especially those not enamored with/used to such. Black olives, garrigue and cracked black pepper throughout mitigated the sweaty saddle and in serious leather (apologies to Frank Zappa) tendencies in the first hour. Overt, bretty notes dissipated after 45 minutes, This particular wine and vintage at the zenith/absolute top of its' particular bell curve and tastes like it can hover there another 5-6 years without drop-off or apology. 10.28.25. — 7 days ago

Opened the day before with half the bottle remaining. The 2007 CdR Villages pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark brambles, red and purple flowers, open pasture land, olives, some black pepper, leather and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is an impressive wine despite the rather modest designation, especially when you consider it’s nearly 18 years old! Then again, the talent behind this wine should yield a solid wine (Pegau & Cailloux). Drink now though it could easily see its 25th birthday if you must hold one longer. — 4 months ago

Waft of fruit on the nose immediately, raspberry and cassis. Soft but with a dense round mouthfeel. Young tannins, front of tongue and sides. You can taste the Syrah coming through. Could use another year or two easily but very nice now. — 8 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2023 Cuvée Réservé Blanc pours a deep yellow color with medium+ viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of melons, a mix of white and yellow flowers, marmalade, tarragon, and wet stones. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ with an oily texture. Lovely stuff and better with air. Drink now through 2033. — 25 days ago

Unusual. Delicious. Excellent minerality, nice heft and mouthfeel. There is a fruit coming through that I can’t quite identify. And some baking spices, but not oak or vanilla. It’s very nice and moves from a floral aspect through a pithy citrus and into a nice tail. — 8 months ago
