Classic. Treasure found at the local wine shop for a deal. Beautiful Napa cab nose full of blue/darkfruit. You notice the blend on the palate - cab franc, petit verdot, merlot and a bit of malbec. Just really well put together. Going to venture out and get more tomorrow. — 4 days ago

Bright silver/gold color. Aromas of lemon candy, apple, white flowers and lime. Expressive flavors of lemon, tropical fruit, Granny Smith apple and peaches. Hint of fresh herbs on the medium-plus finish. Mouth watering acidity and excellent balance. Pleasant mouthfeel and aftertaste. So flavorful, bold and well crafted. From a 5 Bordeaux grape blend: 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 2.5% Cabernet Franc, 2.3% Petit Verdot & 0.3% Malbec, aged 24 months French oak, 85% new, Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, cedar and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and currants with notes of herbs, pepper spice and earthy notes. Double-decanted about two hours prior to service. The 2007 Galitzine pours a deep garnet color with a slightly tawny color towards the rim; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining and some signs of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with ripe and slightly desiccated black fruits: blackberries, currants, black cherry, tobacco, chocolate, leather, earth, some vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acidity. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and pretty decadent. Considering the vintage, this had held up pretty well and even though it’s not really my style, it’s executed well. Drink now with a decant and through 2027. It might go longer but I don’t have enough experience with QC to understand the aging arc. There’s certainly no shortage of fruit. — 8 days ago
