Hmm. 🤔 wasn’t able to connect with this, expectingly great wine. Actually first direct out of the bottle it was promising. Strong oak notes with vibrant dark red fruit underneath it. But over the next hour, the oak flavors started to be integrated more but the acidity became very prominent and made the wine rather single note, diluted, lacking depth, acidic tasting. So needless to say. Disappointing experience. Maybe it was not the right day 🤔. — 3 days ago
Excellent- a little heavier than most. Would buy again. — 2 months ago
One of my favs from Justin — 7 hours ago
Bottled in June 2023, the 2021 Châteauneuf-du-Pape ended up slightly below my initial assessment from barrel last year. Nonetheless, it presents a distinctively elegant and refreshing character that’s neatly defined by ripe black cherry, licorice, violet, strawberry and meaty traces. Round tannins neatly frame this savory and polished red that offers highly enjoyable drinking right out of the gate. (Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous, June 2024)

If I could use just one word? Intense! Still tight but the layers of dark fruit are starting to shine through the angular, lead pencil soaked tannins. Everything is super balanced and leads you to a grippy, lingering finish. Drinking it right here in the Idaho Mountains! What a life. Oh, talking about Idaho. It finally got on the map of Wine Folly! First impression of lush dark fruit that transitions to strong, earthy gravel with a dry and spicy finish. Really impressive. — a month ago
It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a wide brick rim.
Nice nose with red and black fruits, light oak, tobacco leaf, light mildew, cola and dark coffee.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, spices, oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, earth, vegetables, forest floor and black pepper.
Short finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 27 year old is still drinking very nicely, although definitely not at its peak anymore. Complex and engaging.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 2 hours of airtime.
I Had this same vintage a little while ago, and this bottle drinks much better. At this age, the condition of the specific bottle is very imperative.
Will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Always nice to drink these kind of old wines.
12.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Peaking, exquisite example here of a perfectly aged bottle from an outstanding right bank vintage. — 3 months ago
