Rock Springs

St Innocent Winery

Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 1998

This 1998 7 Springs Pinot seems mature, supple, candied red fruits, nice balance, good length, but not quite a typically-excellent bottle of this wine. — 20 days ago

Alder Springs Vineyard Sparkling Chardonnay 2017

Beautiful golden color. Toast, lemon pith, slate, bright acidity. Chablis meets champagne in California? A great food sparkler. — 2 months ago

Rattlesnake Rock Syrah 2018

Everybody seems to have glowing opinions of this, but mine was just a good wine and all the complexity in depth that I’m hearing about here I just didn’t get. A very good balance of strong flavors drank it across three days, dark pepper, and tobacco notes and ripe fruit and I will say without any overwhelming attendance. The structure was just incredible. Very good wine, maybe I’m just different than the other reviewers. — 2 months ago

Absolutely delicious other than a developing clove note throwing me off a little. Nose and palate were phenomenal right out of the bottle. — 4 months ago

Chimney Rock

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, with splashes of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot and Malbec all SLD estate fruit, deep Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, oak and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, cherry and currants with tobacco and herb spice. Fine smooth tannins, approachable, long finish ending with fruit, oak, spice and herb mineral character. Nice! — 6 months ago

Summum Seven Springs Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

A superb Chardonnay! Aromas of Anise and Honeysuckle. Apple and Honey on the bud. Crisp and smooth with a long finish. Great with our Salmon tonight. Need to order more from Evening Springs as we were extremely impressed with their wines when we visited earlier this year. — 7 months ago

Ridge Vineyards

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend 2022

Day 1 of this year's Smallmouth Smackdown has begun. After 7 hours on the boat, and a dozen bass, it's time to crack into some libations (had a few PBR's on the boat).
This is a lush Zin. Concentrated fruit, but savory and chewy. Blackberry, blood orange, cigar box, and enough structure to age much longer. This is my 3rd Ridge Zin, and I'd have to say I still favor the Pagani Ranch.

@Dave, bravo my man!! The other advice you received is also great!! I think Pagani vs. Lytton Springs vs. Geyserville vs. any other Ridge Zin is often vintage, since they’re all blends!! (In fact, Geyserville never (mostly?) never says Zinfandel on the label since it very rarely (never?) is at least 75% Zinfandel, which is the CA requirement for varietal name on the label.
