Santa Cruz Mountains Chardonnay 2019

Presented double-blind. The wine appears a straw color; medium viscosity with no signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of orchard fruit: apples, lemon curd, nuts and lees. Lavishly oaked. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and lovely. I called Chardonnay from the United States, California, Napa Valley 2019. So close! Drink now through 2029. — 2 days ago

Tenuta San Guido

Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 2008

A wonderfully balanced Cabinet blend from Bolgheri. Definitely Cabernet notes but so balanced that nothing stands out. Sassicaia is definitely Bordeaux First or Second Growth standard. Understated but irresistible nonetheless. 85% Cabernet Sauvignon; 15% Cabernet Franc. Probably one of the best non Bordeaux Cabernet blends. — 4 days ago

Monte Bello Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Just a half bottle test.. way way too early. Decanted and it needed a solid hour before it unfolded at all. Great structure lurking but this experience was impaired by immaturity. — 6 days ago

All about the nose on this. Compact, deep core of raspberry and pomegranate. Finish hangs — 6 days ago

San Giusto a Rentennano

Percarlo Toscana Sangiovese 2018

Not the best vintage of this wine and not the best bottle we have had. There is still an impressive wine hiding in here but i think I would just forget about this for 10+ years. Needed a big decant and food (truffel and mushroom risotto) to get going. — a day ago

Sorì San Lorenzo Langhe Nebbiolo 1997

Lots of heft and complexity. The fruit is still packing a nice punch but it’s deeper and more mature. Tobacco. Red fruits. Strong tannins. Great color. — 10 days ago

Deep cherry red. Black currant. Vanilla. Gentle aroma. Silky tannin. Superb balance among sweetness, spiciness and acidity. Full of elegance. Mount Eden Cabernet Sauvignon Estate 17 @13750, Yang, 241222 — 8 days ago
