Nose of dried flowers, fino sherry and green tea. Notes of cider and autolysis detract just a bit- as they make the wine seem simple (which it isn’t)- but I’m sure the natural wine hive mind will disagree on that point. Still, quite saline, focused and super long. Imagine a few years of aging will bring added weight and richness. #occhipinti #sicily — 8 years ago
Tasty. Sweet but not overly sweet. — 9 years ago
First, I have to comment on the packaging. Simple and elegant, with a simple waxed top which makes for a beautiful bottle. The wine itself is lovely and exemplifies the precision to be found in the 2014 vintage of Oregon Chardonnay. A hint of reduction on the nose, with fresh lemon curd, baby's breath, and green corn husk filling it out. Bright with bracing citrus upon entry, giving way green apples and pears, and finishing with peppery notes. The oak and vanilla show a bit on the mid to back palate, but mellows a bit after a while. Be great to check on in a few years. — 10 years ago
Large complex nose of red citrus, bee-hive, bees-wax, and white flowers; mouth-filling mousse with everything from the nose plus high acids and a long nuthoney finish. This 14 yr-old wine has likely reached its peak as another bottle from same case was a bit over the hill. — 10 years ago
I’m losing my shit right now. This is amazing. Apricot jam, honey, wet wool, bee hive, lavender stalks, succulent plums. Had before, more evident now. Wow. — 6 years ago

Smooth and balanced with a hint of spice. One of my favorite wines at The Hive. — 10 years ago
1975. Amazing Sauternes. Like living in a bee hive full of honey. — 10 years ago
@Jordan Mackay you were correct, sir. A unicorn wine. SO glad I opened to share with friends. @Rajat Parr @Julia Weinberg need your/@delectable's wine hive-mind to get more of the story of this gorgeous Napa red blend. Jammy, smoky, licorice, & dried cherry. — 10 years ago

Really got saunters flavor, strong honey and delicate mineral taste, honey hive. Developed well. Long lasting — 6 years ago
You immediately smell fresh cut cold Green Apple when first poured and nosed. Has it warms smell transitions to raw honey like in hive combs, sweet but not sugary and the hint of outdoors funk! The body of the fluid is luxurious in mouth.
In tasting this wine is subtle throughout = balanced ....Green Apple, honeydew melon, lemon acidity that flattens out with a warming and bitterness of raw asparagus.
Truly an adventure worth trying on bright sunny day. Enjoyed with homemade cod cakes an d garden salad 🙌🏼🍷 — 7 years ago
A delicious and citrus hit at the beginning w/ a sweet honeysuckle flavor at the end. I highly recommend this one y'all. — 9 years ago
Super fresh. Canned 24 hours ago. Massive fresh hoppy nose. Sticky, resiny hops flavor with a slight hint of the honey that cuts the bitterness perfectly. — 10 years ago
S.S. Mandani
Orange blossom, citrus grove, bee hive waxy, mango puree, peach flesh.
Straight up sunny delight. Juice bomb.
Zesty AF, zingy, exactly what I was looking for for my next wine club tasting for wines from the movies. This has got Kill Bill written all over it. The hues, the outlandishness (20% cider, 80 % Riesling), the sharp yellow-orange hue.
Gulpable. — 2 years ago
