This year was phenomenal. So well balanced and fresh. I was impressed at similarity from draft to bottle. Legend! — 3 months ago
Rich floral and red fruit (cherry) aromas, the flavors follow, still structured and seems to have more time to go, but it’s singing tonight, much fresher than the 1993 served alongside, super fine Seven Springs Pint Noir!! — 21 days ago
At the Henschke tasting weekend with Stephen and Pru. Amazing how good this was for its youth. You could happily drink this now although the winery says you could cellar this 15 plus years (from vintage). In chatting with Stephen I think this was what he was trying to achieve. Excellent vintage he said. Red and blue fruits - touches of anise and white pepper. 81% Shiraz, 11% Grenache, 6% Mataro and 2% Viognier (for aromatics). An affordable Henschke red at $40. — a month ago
Violet? Potting soil? Bright fruit, short finish. Fun — 2 months ago
Medium Ruby with ripe berry fruit flavors, some tea, floral and spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry, cranberry and raspberry with earthy herbs and citrus notes. Fine integrated tannins on medium+ finish ending with fruit and earthy character. Nice! — 25 days ago
Had La Macchiona as part of a wine pairing at Septime, so I had to grab a bottle from this producer when I saw it. Not sure what I expected but it was much richer, fuller, and sweeter than I thought. The sweetness slowly wore off giving way to ripe cherries and rhubarb as it opened. Stood up well to the Mediterranean food of all things we had with it and actually quite a nice compliment to it in many ways. Lacked some depth but primary characteristics were strong and carried this wine beyond my expectations. — a month ago

Summum: Popped and poured; enjoyed with our first course of corn chowder. The 2015 Summum pours a bright neon yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is youthful with bright notes Meyer lemon, star fruit, yellow flowers, some butter, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and has a chalky texture. The balance of fruit and minerals soooo Eola-Amity Hills. Drink now through 2030. — 11 days ago
