Really balanced and crowd pleasing white option - not too buttery — 3 months ago

Presented double-blind. The wine appears a light straw color; medium viscosity with no signs of sediment. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of orchard fruit: apples, lemon curd, hot metal and a buttermilk thing. I think there is some oak? On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose and there is a leesy textural element. The finish is long and intensely mineral driven. I called Chardonnay from France, from Burgundy, from the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne- Montrachet, 2018. Well, well…I was close but it was the Chardonnay from the north and with some age!! And awesome showing. Drink now but this has years to go. — 2 months ago
Guys, this is really really good. I’ve been on a bad streak with premox - 4 of 6 fevre 04 les clos’s I recently bought went down the drain so I was worried looking at the color through the bottle. So I opened one even though it is way too young. Never had the Cote Bouguerots before. Very impressive. Much weightier and rounder than typical Chablis, but still with enough apple and limestone to place it. Big fan especially at the price point. — 4 months ago

Wonderfully complex dark red wine. Aroma is spicy, with notes of black pepper, clove, tobacco. Definitely some minerality, like slate, limestone and a touch of brimstone. Very woody but not the cocoa and vanilla more very subtle green woods. Full bodied with balanced sweetness and a strong tannic finish. Had would spag bol. Delicious on its own and with food. — 4 days ago
