Kirchspiel Großes Gewächs Riesling 2015

A touch of talc on the nose - a note of pineapple juice, peach and slatey mineral. German dry Riesling like this one can still be reasonably sweet. An excellent Riesling as you would expect for a GG but top quality Australian Riesling from the Clare or Eden Valleys represent better value for money IMO. — 7 days ago

I know it is expensive, but i reckon very few Oz riesling can get the complexity these wines have. Yes, they drink marvellously, but they lack the details German riesling have. You pay the marketing at the moment as well; 20+ years ago there were amazing German Riesling at the same price of the Oz ones. Obviously if you were in Europe. After the Chinese market started to buy Bordeaux first and Burgundy and Germany after everything has gone up.
Not the big names anymore, but if you travel here and there in Germany or Austria you can still get fantastic deals.

Brunnenhäuschen Riesling GG 2019

Quite punchy and rough, sweetness is there but very high acidity and quite thin sharp expression of oily notes makes it feel young and energetic — 5 months ago

Morstein Großes Gewächs Riesling 2022

V. closed, a touch rounder, roper vs the rest. Shy ripe peach. Dark rock.
Complex & complete on the palate.
Depth, precision, elegance, power yet in a glove. Brilliant depth. And it just never stops. The aftertaste itself is a killer.
What a wine!

Actually very good for an Estate wine. But 25$. Mandarin mostly. Some tannins. Decent complexity and weight. — 7 days ago

100 Hügel trocken Riesling 2021

a german Riesling proud and loud about its' terroir.

high high acidity leading the way for a full body half dry juice.
and it is very juicy!
mostly lemon (juice, peel, curd and pie) with added grass and hay, a green apple and that hinted kerosine.

long 🎯

no complexity and no 🎇
but 100% real wine.

paired lovely with hummus and falafel with added spicy sauce.

Aulerde Großes Gewächs Riesling 2022

1Apricot & some white peach, pure & crisp. V. Linear on the palate with zippy acidity, broader & more fruity on the mid palate with some peach & green pineapple. And then zippy mineral linear & long finish. Very, very good. — 8 months ago

Wow. Pop and pour: wanted to see the energy up front, but will follow over a couple of days. On the nose: amazing intensity; electric lemon, ripe peach, stone for days, maybe even a hint of reduction. On the palate: acidity is crackling with intensity. Reminds me up front of 2021 Wittmann, but the elegance reigns supreme with some time open. This is extremely youthful now, but spectacular. — 10 months ago

This is a stunning, elegant wine with defined notes of crisp green apple, white peach, fresh apricot, citrus blossom, wet slate, crushed stones, and petrol. — a month ago

100 Hills Pinot Blanc 2021

4th wine of my birthday blind tasting. I found the right country but not the right varietal 😅.
Very flinty nose, hay, white flower, a bit of lemon zest too which is what tipped me off I think (I thought it was a German riesling). There was a bit of co2 upon opening too which is one more reason for me calling it a riesling blind.
The palate is clearly not that of a riesling, now that I now, but hey 😁. Long and bright palate with some width, some very vivid mouthfeel, some grip, a tiny touch of lemon zest. The grip is tightening in the rear and powers up a long, fresh, subtly zesty finish. This is a good one!

Edit. The wine opened after an hour or so and some nice underlying peachy and peary notes popped on the palate, making it delicious. One more point

Westhofener Trocken Riesling 2022

A blend of his GGs.
Muted, ascetic, with some green apple and wet sandy earth.
Spicy minerality in the palate, a bit of green fruit. Nice presence & decent length.
