Medium ruby garnet , narrow garnet rim . Quite deep spicy tobacco , cassis , redcurrant , grafite , smoky herbal notes on the nose. On the palate this is quite restrained and elegant , with a mix of red and dark fruits , cassis , blueberry , red currant , touch of menthol also . Good refreshing acidity and slightly gritty tannins , good length with grafite and tobacco stained finish . This is showing well and is probably at peak at the moment , no rush as it will stay here for another 8-10 years or so . — 3 months ago
Deep oak, violet, and blueberry with a full rich feeling. — 8 days ago
BlackBerry, blueberry, black pepper and licorice surrounded with well integrated and soft tannins. While the finish was not as profound as I would have liked this was an excellent wine to represent Priorat’s Garnacha-based blends. — 5 days ago
At over 20 years old, the 2004 Opus One is showing beautifully, striking a balance between maturity and vibrancy. On the nose, it opens with an inviting bouquet of ripe blackberries, cassis, and dark cherries, layered with subtle notes of violet, tobacco, and espresso.
On the palate, the wine is smooth and full-bodied, with fine-grained tannins and a silky texture that coats the mouth without being heavy. The core is rich with dark fruit—black plum, currant, and a touch of blueberry—balanced by earthy undertones and a whisper of leather. Definitely one of my favorites. — 3 months ago
Dark purple/black color. Aromas of cooked black fruit, violets and Asian spices. Blackberry compote, huckleberry, blueberry jam and black plum fruit flavors along with notes of chocolate, black licorice, basil, tobacco, coffee and vanilla. Hint of saline on the long and drawn out finish. High, but not obvious, alcohol (16%). Velvety texture and tannin structure. Plush, bold and powerful. Thanks for sharing, James W. — 2 days ago
Ripe, bright, lovely nose. Wow, pnp and drinking amazing. Ripe, lush, black and blueberries, crème de cassis, blueberry pie, graphite, baking spices, violets. Absolutely gorgeous mouthfeel - silky smooth, bright and soft tannins, wonderfully balanced! Medium + finish. Always been impressed with Corison’s Kronos bottlings but this ‘19 might be the best! — 2 months ago
Inky and dense, with aromas of violet and dark fruit. Multiple flavors hitting the palate, including blueberry and blackberry with a hint of earth supported by a tannic backbone. Still tight and a bit alcoholic; decanting improved things a bit but needs more time in the bottle. Good but not great. — 4 months ago
