Blend of 60% Cab Sauv, 35% Merlot, 3% Cab Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of black cherry, currant and blueberry fruit with cigar box, cinnamon and floral notes. Lively acidity, elegant fine tannins, well balanced, long finish ending with slight earthy notes, plenty of depth, good now and will continue to develop. — 2 months ago
Part of a Chateau Mouton Rothschild vertical from 1988-1990. This was my second time enjoying the 1990 vintage and, much like my previous experience, this was rather quiet early and then came on with the business, late. As before, a mix of red and black cassis, ripe and desiccated cherries, tobacco leaf, cedar box, old leather, damp earth, some mushrooms and baking spices. After two similar experiences, I believe this vintage needs a lot of patience and a lot of air to wake up. Without either, it will be misunderstood. Drink now through 2040+ — 6 months ago
Good nose. A little peppery but good body. Dry finish. Enjoying at Merriman’s in Maui. — 9 days ago
A beautifully aged ducru that had no cork issues and that was punching above its wait class! Typical tertiary flavors of forest floor, leather and cigar box - with livery dark fruit in the glass. This was the first 70’s Bordeaux that brought a smile! — 2 months ago
Quite deep ruby garnet core and medium ruby garnet rim. This is showing more development, with cedar , cigar box , cassis and blackberry richness , aromatic and enticing from the very beginning . On the palate with is well balanced with a good mineral backbone , grafite and blackcurrant hints , really good symmetry and balanced , refreshing acidity , polished fine tannin . Long finish . Showing well now , in a really good spot where this has development on the nose but no lack of fruit of backbone on the palate . Will certainly continue at this level for another 10- 15 years . — 4 months ago

Opened a couple hours prior to service and enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 1994 “Estate Reserve” pours a slightly hazy garnet color with a near opaque core and some rim variation; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark fruits: cassis, black cherry, green bell pepper, tobacco, potpourri, old leather bound books, beef broth, and organic dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium (integrated) tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose with the addition of pomegranates. The finish is long. ABV is 12.5%!! This is about as old school as it gets and I’d be tempted to call this Left Bank Bordeaux if I was blinded. Wow. Drink now…but will probably live for another 10+ years if stored as well as this bottle (perfect). — 12 days ago
