Rosso di Valtellina Nebbiolo 2020

9.2

Beautiful, engaging nose. Full bloom, pink & red roses, cherry hard candy, layered, soft spice, dark cherries, strawberries, raspberries, light herbal notes, hint of bubble gum.

Pretty, ripe, juicy palate. Fruits are light; raspberries, cherries, strawberries and blackberries & black raspberry hues. Wet river stone, dry limestone powder, more pronounced dark, dry tannins, dry herbs, dark spice with some heat, light, dry tobacco notes, barrel dust, bright red & pink roses, magnificent acidity with a very pleasant elegant, polished finish that lands on spice and lasts 90 seconds.

Really good value and one to pick up.

Vigna San Giuseppe Riserva Bricco Boschis Barolo Nebbiolo 2013

2013 vintage. Decanted and tasted immediately and after 30 mins. Reticent nose. Medium-heavy body. Massive flavors and structure. Wouldn’t open it any time soon. Phenomenal now but so so intense. If you can Potsie it for a decade plus, do so. Another reminder as to why Barolo is the wine of kings. 11.01.24. — 15 days ago

I think this is an excellent Barolo/nebbiolo. Relatively light and herbal, light red fruit notes, fine tannins. Interesting that I bought for $75 but it now lists for $95+. Would love to drink more. Paired with a nice sangiovese — a Brunello di Montalcino — and I think this edged that one. RP 96 pts. — a month ago

So soft and friendly. Great purity of ripe berry and floral notes on the nose. Great casual dinner or sitting-around-drinking wine. — 22 days ago

Riserva Pipparello Montefalco Rosso Sangiovese Blend 2007

Wow, such a pleasure to drink this at this stage. Oodles of dark red and black fruits at the core with a frame of tertiary notes. Subtle spice and and savory notes too. The palate is med+ to full bodied with med+ long but fine grain tannin that are starting to resolve. Deep and pronounced on the palate with a long, and subtly structured finish. Really fun and really good! — 21 days ago

Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2018

Very nice. First bottle pulled of a half case we got when visiting the property 2.5 years ago. Def could take a good bit more time. The tannins seemed to flesh out with air. But still so refined with great balanced of deep earth, minerally fruit, excellent acid. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves. — a month ago
