Full mouthfeel with acidity, minerality, and tropical fruit notes exquisitely balanced. Or peach and honeyed citrus per label. Still lovely. — 2 days ago
A gift I thoroughly enjoyed! — an hour ago
The house style is still here with ripe, slightly over extracted blue fruits, baking spices, cocoa, and a plush velvety palate. But the fruits become less confectionary and some savory components have emerged. Acidity seems more apparent. Really nice integration.
I think Pinot bottlings from Belle Glos are at their best with 5-8 years bottle aging. This is another proof. — a month ago

Gift from Wes Gentle — a month ago
This bottle is a special one because it is the last bottle I have from when I worked at this winery back in 2012. On the nose, there’s dark fruit up front, blackberry, blueberry, currants, layered with leather, tobacco, a little campfire smoke, and a hint of forest floor. On the palate, there’s still a thread of acidity, but the fruit has mostly stepped back. What lingers is a touch of dried cherry and more of those earthy, evolved notes: turned soil and well-integrated oak. — 2 months ago

2021 vintage. Decanted and passed, with high air, between two decanters four times. If it were Caymus, woulda used a blender and forgotten. Last tasted 8.5.26 (9.6) Older (60's, 70's and early 80's) vintages more fruit driven which is quite the surprise in the current Napa Cab climate. Arguably the best GDL Private Reserve this estate has ever made. That goes back six decades. Supple, velveteen entry without the temptations of appearing over-extended. Structured mid-palate. A seeker's wandering, yet undeniably substantial finish. Taste it and you tell me. — a day ago
