Oak black currant, vanilla, black fruits. Earthy, elegancy and complexity. Still 10 years. Expecting! Rausan Segla 13 @, Vin, 250626 — a month ago
1997 vintage. A nice surprise in a vintage that was not highly regarded. Today, the 1997 outshined the 2000 La Tour de Bessan. Wonderful tasting with Marie-Laure Lurton, who kindly opened older vintages of La Tour de Bessan and Villegeorge. Unfortunately the 1961 Villegeorge was corked but one could tell the structure of the wine,it should be great from a good bottle. — 25 days ago
Gorgeous but embryonic. Cassis and florality. Tweed jacket. Stunning florals. Tree bark. Desiccated leaves. Palate is round and wonderful but closed. This is so good and soooooo young. 9.7 on potential. — a month ago
Gingerbread, tobacco and tea leaf, cloves, sweet cherry acidity, some powdery tannins left, bay leaf, orange peel, balsamic vinegar, beginning the autumnal phase of its life. Beautiful now, especially if you enjoy tertiary notes in your wine. Beautiful, balanced, and holds its own in the glass. An "older youngster," so to speak. — 15 days ago
Light to medium body, floral and perfume bouquet, smooth and easy to drink, ripe berry finish, light yet strong enough to pair with beef. Fantastic! — 10 days ago

It is time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday. Let's bring Merlot back!
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose of blueberries, plums, light oak, spices, chocolates and coffee.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with cherries, plums, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs and spices.
Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 9 year old Merlot from the great 2016 vintage in Margaux still feels young. Rich and fruit forward. Spicy and entertaining.
An easy drinking Merlot that will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.
Good by itself or with food.
A blend of 49% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Cabernet Franc. Aged in (25% new) French Oak barrels for 12 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
