I’m baaaack! I’m sure no one missed me but I’ve been off the app for a while. Lots of life happening. So. Decided to jump back on due to a new to me Rose’ that I discovered. Germans can make wine! This is a wonderful deck wine with all types of food or by itself to celebrate the end of a long day. Everyone has described this wine spot on. For me though I get a slight hint of cinnamon on the end and the acidity is primo with smoked meats or a nice charcuterie! Love finding new gems! Enjoy. PS. This is one of Germanys most famous vineyards and Von Winning has made a very vibrant, concentrated and age worthy wine from it. Bursting with lime, rocks, smoke and yellow fruits. Great texture. — 3 months ago

Damn, the Germans have just laid down a great hand of cards in the Sauvignon Blanc game.
More tropical and spice notes than Loire or NZ, actually, strangely the nose is more similar (yet more elegant and restrained) to the finer North American SBs I've tried. Minerality is medium and hard to pick out a soil type. Acidity is on the lower side.
Flavours follow the nose with pineapple, pear, allspice, Rainier cherry.
I favored the bottle that was open for an hour+. The new bottle gave me a very 2022 sense (ie: a young tart) — 4 months ago
