Stat bright pale straw. Lighter but inviting nose of Asian pear, toasted vanilla spice, and rocks. Palate is medium full yielding chalky pear, flinty citrus rind, and a hint of chalky vanilla. Medium long finish, especially as the wine warms up. The flagship wine of Domaine Dagueneau lives up to all the hype. “A red in white clothing,” as my drinking partner puts it. Allegedly, Didier preferred this wine with a rare steak. I totally get that, having had this with a lightly marbled New York strip (and shrimp). It’s Cabernet Sauvignon’s mother after all. So much complexity and general “stuff” in this wine! If you’re one of those who won’t spend a lot on white wines, you’re missing out. This is up there with Savienneres and White Burgundy among white wine royalty. Fork over the cash. You won’t regret it. Drink now through 2026. — 3 years ago

Great classic and strict Austrian Pinot Noir. My wardrobe doesn't have proper set of clothing to match this wine, but to hell with those suits - I still enjoy this wine even in my shorts. Excellent bouquet: spices, earth, wild strawberry, tobacco leaves, cherry. More volume than I expected, medium+ body, vertical palate.

Big bruising style of pinot. Dark cherry, plum, and earthy notes on the nose. Palate is med/full bodied with power and weight. A cab shiraz in pinot clothing. Very good though. — 4 years ago
Incredibly enjoyable to drink. Just as balanced and fresh as the others in the lineup, this one is dominated by black cherry cola. There is a very appealing profile of sugary soda on the nose combined with smooth dark fruit. It’s what you want out of a great burgundy, but in Morgon clothing. Great showing! — 3 years ago
14.5% essentially a California fruit bomb in French clothing. They are really loosing it the French. Cherry over the top. May be this will loose its fruit over time. Now I am not impressed especially vis-a-vis the 2019 Liaison Enderle & Moll. May be this had to be done with the high taxes imposed in the Trump era. — 3 years ago
Red cherries, mature red fruits and notes of barnyard hay and earth that dissipated over a day in Eto. Interesting opening indeed. Lithe and balanced, lively texture leading to a long good finish. Yum. 24 GL back in 2011, Prince in Pauper’s clothing indeed. Interesting back story of limestone quarry precluding proper AOC of these lands. — 5 years ago
