good example of what a German, Baden area, Pinot Noir can be. Spatburgunder in German labeling
Light, delicate, aromatic, somewhat more sour cherry and rhubarb than you might expect but still a win. — 22 days ago
Absolutely a grosses gewachs quality wine.
Nose: sweet minerals. Sweet lemon. Intense. Very intense. Minerals are almost savory they are so intense. Lemon flower.
Palate: so delicious. Gods sweet lemon. Crackling minerality. So balanced.
Long finish. Lingering. — 5 days ago
GE for Gestad.
Oh wow - they really nailed it in ‘21.
This has to be the most Burgundian Syrah I have ever tasted.
Upon opening this is _so_ Côte Chalonnaise Pinot - dark spicy cherry with a bit of structure & beef. With time more blueberry comes to the forefront together with some leather, a touch of rosemary, a whiff of freshly cracked black pepper. It remains hung somewhere between a Pinot and Côte Rotie. Very, very fresh & enticing.
Very fresh and Pinot-like on the palate as well. Juicy acidity, polished tannins. More Baden Pinot than Burgundy… but very precise, light, aetheric.
Blind I would have never said this is a Syrah!
Such a pleasure already now. And amazing value for money! — 2 months ago
Of the box. And yes Lyle will kill me for not waiting. But F…..yeah. This is the best most different vintage they ever made. Black currants, raspberries really and i mean really - juicy oh man this is insane drinkable. Light 12% with some acids so much grace and balance. Tasted this vintage in the cellar in May. Unreal vintage across the board. A different take than in the past. Stylistically different but boy is this good. — 13 hours ago
Such a masterful wine at almost 11 years of age. Nose is luscious and deep. Mint and red fruits and dramatic exotic spices. Terrific minerality. Limestone galore. Layered and perfumed. Knockout. Some charcoal as well. Palate is so juicy and energetic giving luscious red cherries that burst with intensity on the explosive finish. Then it cuts a swath of mineral and slowly dissipates. The work of a genius. The sweetness of the fruit and depth of minerality are so intertwined here. Unreal purity. Truly the most amazing Rhini I have ever had. — a month ago

Absurdly good. See previous descriptions and ratings. Essentially Pinot does not get better than this. 12.5%. And this from a very bad vintage. — 7 days ago
