Apropos, the vines for “La Chapelle” are adjacent to the chapel perched at the very top of the Mont Brouilly where it is quite dry and the soil is very poor. The vineyard is also remarkably steep making manual harvest essential.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of three days. Fairly consistent throughout but I felt it was most enjoyable on Day 2 and 3. The 2022 “La Chapelle” pours a deep ruby/purple color; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful and fresh with beautiful notes of tart blackberries, red plum, wet stone, a combination of red and purple flowers, licorice, dried green herbs, some wood varnish. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+ and has a stiff spine of minerals. This is a cerebral wine compared to “Godefroy” (which is almost quaffable in comparison). Drinking well now to enjoy its freshness but will undoubtedly drink well through 2037+. Pale ruby, med body, med finish, full of raspberry, strawberry, high acidity, 14% alcohol, balance, little oak, vanilla, still fresh, med complexity, $285 hkd CP 8.5 — a month ago
Ample black currant aromas overflowing from my glass. Oak. Roses. Spices. Black berry. Still fresh, but rounded. Balanced sweetness and spiciness. 2 hours, tropical fruits? Melted tannic, so smooth. With bitterness is also impacted. Vanilla, oak. Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley Paul Hobbs Wines 18 @14960, Toscan, 240914 — 16 days ago
This is a very tasty Grand Cru Champagne.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity and medium plus size bubbles.

Showing limes, lemons, brioche, yeast, minerals, and green apples.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
A nice sipping wine that will pair nicely with seafood.

Very light and pale. Granny Smith and a little spice on the nose. Medium acidity. Not super fruity. No oak apparently. Never had a white Beaujolais before. Good value for about $20. — a day ago
Deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Pretty nose with wild flowers, red and black fruits, light oak, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, spices, dark chocolates, barnyard, light earth, herbs, licorice and black pepper.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, licorice, dark chocolates, earth, tobacco, tar, vegetables, bitter herbs and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 9 year old Syrah from Northern Rhône is drinking very nicely now. Rich and fruit forward.
Extracted and in your face kind of wine. A little stinky, in a good way, as expected. Complex, elegant and smooth.
Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 7 years.
Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime. I had the 2016 not too long ago, and liked it better.
Good by itself and better with food.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
