Rock Canyon Vineyards

Chimney Rock

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Deep purple in color.

Fruity and easy drinking right out of the bottle

Rich and extracted. Smooth and elegant. Showing nice complexity and balance. Spicy and entertaining.

Still young, but already enjoyable, even by itself. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years.

Robert Parker 92 points. Wine Spectator 94 points.

A delicious Napa Cabernet, and better with airtime. I've had many different vintages of this wine and it is very consistent.

A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Merlot and a touch of Petit Verdot and Malbec.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$100.

Bone Rock James Berry Vineyard Syrah Grenache 2013

Exceptional blend. Mostly Syrah but the Grenache shines. Bold red with great depth. Lovely floral nose of violets and berries. Big winner tonight. — 25 days ago

Rose Rock

Drouhin Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2022

Dark garnet color. Complex aromas of lavender, violets, rose petals, red cherries and cinnamon. Red, blue and black berry fruit flavors with touches of baking spices, orange zest and fresh basil. Beautiful earthy note on the long finish. Medium bodied with soft tannins tannins and nicely balanced acidity. Delicate but bold at the same time. Excellent! — 2 months ago

Star Lane Vineyard

Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

2009. Similar notes to the 2005. Less eucalyptus notes, more dried fruit. Inky color, iron minerality, cassis driven, pretty fruit, tannins still grippy. Tobacco and mint on the finish. Cork disintegrated while opening, but juice intact! 😁 — 25 days ago

Big wine. Black olives and herbs. Probably should have had it with dinner. Would have been so good with a chop or bolognese. — 3 months ago

Rose Rock Eola - Amity Hills Chardonnay 2022

Quite nice with Pat’s grilled swordfish as well as air fryer salmon fillets. Toasty aromas, floral notes and spice, but light bodied and fresh acidity ($39). — 8 days ago

Colson Canyon Vineyard Syrah 2023

2023 vintage. From Coravin. Syrah for Cabernet drinkers. Massive, smooth body and currently without any of the quirky, bretty Syrah flavors that can pull a full frontal assault on the palate. Delicious. Would love to taste in a decade to see what weightiness has left the building and how it has been replaced by the wine nature abhors a vacuum flavors. 10.23.24. — a month ago
