PnP. Dark red color. Awesome, complex nose filled with bell pepper, cardamom, oak, flowers, and a hint of peppermint. Bright cherries and wood on the palate. Medium depth and finish. Very nice! — a month ago

Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

Quite closed on the nose right now. Closed yet rich. With black currant leaf, a bit of cedar wood, a hint of dark plum.
On the palate this is already surprisingly ready. Very elegant, the tannins velvety, juicy, so finely grained & smooth. Amazing quality. Poised, impeccably balanced, with great depth. This is quite spectacular. Even if it’s infanticide.

Best bottle yet!! PnP. Dark red color. Sour cherries and green elements on the nose. Sweeter than normal which was nice. Medium depth and full of flavor - burning wood. Great QBR! Sad it’s my last bottle but have the ‘13 vintage in the cellar. — 2 years ago

This is the winery’s only bottling for which the fruits are sourced, yet it’s still really well made.
Fragrant and lithe, this is quite feminine. Deft use of oak. Tremendously enjoyable just like the previous vintages I’ve tasted.

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Medium deep ruby , garnet rim . Quite closed at first , touch of spice , wood smoke , grafite , coffee, cocoa . Touches of blackberry , cassis , violet . On the palate quite rich and young still , lots of tannin , balanced alcohol and fresh acidity . Cassis , tobacco , blackberry . Mineral , tobacco tinged finish of excellent length . Still young needs more time , better in 5 or 10 years and will last well a further 20. Great potential ! — 7 months ago

Yes @Bob McDonald ! It was quite difficult to choose a favourite. The potential and power of the 2005 , the showy , explosive nature of the 2000 or the elegant and classic 1998… Such quality across the board

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

Dark scarlet color with a deep center. Notes of black cherry, cola, roses, cassis, some spice and a little wood char. Amazing perfume in the nose. Smooth and silky in the mouth. Lots of drama with this one, and many agreed the 59 was better than the 45, the 61 and 82 Latours beside it. Bravo! — 2 years ago
