Beaux Frères

The Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir 2021

A wonderful Oregon Pinot! Dark red cherry with hints of earthiness aromas. A bit of stewed fruits as well on the bud. Smooth with a nice long finish. — 8 days ago

R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2012

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2012 pours a deep ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Montmorency cherry, blackberry, dill, toasted coconut, olive, zatar, and a touch of vanilla. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This only got better with air and might be my favorite young Tondonia since I first drank the 2006 vintage. Really good stuff already! Drink now with some patience and through 2042. — 17 days ago

Corison

Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Here we have the Corison 2012 Kronos Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s deep garnet & overflowing with characteristics such as ripe blackberry, plum, cassis, blueberry, mulberry, black cherry, fresh purple fig, violet, rose, roasted bell pepper, star anise, cedar, sandalwood, vanilla, nutmeg, clove, leather, tobacco, crushed stones, and graphite.

On the palate it’s dry, with refreshing acidity, a medium (+) body, reserved alcohol (13.7% ABV), fine tannins and a lingering finish. It’s outstanding – balanced, layered, elegant, & powerful.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let's raise a glass to Cathy Corison and all the trailblazing women who continue to shape our world!!

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

This is just entering the window. Very good, but fruit is still a bit muted. I think another 10 yrs takes this to a new level. — 24 days ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2001

Decanted for 30 minutes. On the nose: cedar, sandstone, currents, hint of leather.
On the palate: dissipating tannin, softening cedar, emerging black cherry fruit and soft sandstone.
This is a big, beautiful Bordeaux at its peak with all the softness in the last sip that comes with age.
Drink it now.

Belle Glos

Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

Crafted by Joseph J. Wagner, 4th generation winemaker, with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tea and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of jammy blackberry and cherry with pronounced sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! — 19 days ago

Concha y Toro

Don Melchor Puente Alto Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

My first exposure to Don Melchor was rewarding! Rich, dark fruit maturity on the nose was consistent with long lasting dark cherries and red plum on the palette. Soft tannins reminiscent of a well aged Cabernet, the softness of this young cab was surprising and delightful! An absolute treat to taste!! — a month ago

The Mascot

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Really enjoying this super third from Harlan. Blueberry cobbler on the nose and palate. Weighty and voluptuous. Loving the regal tannic structure. Clean, long extended finish with pumping acidity.

Correcting my assertion that the Mascot is a second wine. In fact The Maiden is the second, so this is the third. My apologies for the error.
