Krug

Vintage Brut Champagne Blend 2006

Using Delectable library photo of Krug vintage. The one I tasted was 2006. A blend of 48% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 17% Pinot Meunière. Quite a high % of Chardonnay for Krug in this warmer year. So balanced and thorough. The aperitif we had at a Burgundy dinner in Sydney on August 7. Only catching up with notes now. — a month ago

Château Montrose

La Dame de Montrose Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

This is the 2019 Chateau Montrose La Dame de Montrose. Saint-Estèphe Gironde, France Bordeaux. The blend is 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot 4% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, perfume rose petals, green bell pepper, spice, vanilla and earth.

On the palate is black cherry, blackberry, plum, black currant, herbaceous, green bell pepper, licorice, black pepper and a real dark earth edge.

This wine is beautifully full bodied with medium + to high but not overbearing acidity and medium + sinewy muscular firm tannins that nicely move into a long black fruit rich earthy finish. This can definitely be a top line Bordeaux. I hope everyone is well. This weekend looks to be a good one. Drink something special with someone special. Stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Enderle & Moll

Muschelkalk Pinot Noir 2015

Dear Friends warning this wine needs 48 hours to open up! I kept it for that time under Argon!

Still think the 2015 Muschelkalk mights have peaked. I opened 3 bottles. The first was oxidized and the other 2 were good to world class. The cork on all three was quite soft.

The wine has this ethereal character but the twisty black forest herbs are somewhat gone. It is still great to drink - but to shine one needs stupido patience.

Calk, very faint cherry. (Collecting E&M since 2009. And have been at the winery every other year.).

If you have it you must really experiment and play around but also - drink it up! Not a wine for normal or sane people.
#Will check 2015 Bundsandstein and IDA next.

The 48 month new unicorn wine. Caramelized and slightly oxidized but engaging and deep. Not as fine as the Prevost but a treat. Seemed young. — 2 years ago
