Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2012

Initial aromas of passion fruit. 76% Sauvignon Blanc, 24% Semillon. Grassy and herbal notes. Quite delicate. A guava note on the palate. Only 35% new oak which is totally integrated. So refreshing and balanced. I have previous Delectable notes which were also praiseworthy. — 17 days ago

Nice, light body & mousse. Pear, red & green apple, pineapple, white peach, cream soda, vanillin, caramel & honey notes, light white spice, some nice yeastiness, bread dough, light & soft chalkiness/limestone, sea spray, white spring flowers w/ yellow lilies, soft, round acidity and a well balanced, rounded, elegant finish.

Disgorged 11/22. 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay.

Clos des Lunes Lune d'Argent Bordeaux Blanc Sec Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2022

2022 vintage. The nice price. 70% Semillion. 30% Sauvignon Blanc. Medium body. Interplay between the acidity and fruit is well done. Delicious. 5.9.24. — 2 months ago

Insanely awesome! Lovely dark gold color. Complex with butter, popcorn, melons, minerality, lemons, and camomile. Huge wine. Great QPR! — 18 days ago

Very young. Still somewhat unstructured and tannins that need to mellow. But good potential. — a month ago

Montmains Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Light straw gold; nice nose of yellow fruits, even including dried apricot; ripe and rich in the fullish mouth with orchard fruit but barely enough acidity to be Chablis. — 2 months ago

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

2014 vintage. This is the rouge. Last (proper bottle not compromised) tasted 3.2.23 (9.3). From Coravin. Lost the baby fat. Still medium/medium-heavy body but really starting to embrace and pump out leaner flavors. Underrated producer (the white doesn’t suck either) and the wines are underpriced relative to the market. Plenty of further development expected. May even bump up a notch on the next visit. 5.9.24. — 2 months ago

Les Jumelles Côte-Rôtie Syrah 1985

From magnum. Initially this smelled of bandaid and dirty diapers. However, with air the stink blew off to reveal a beautiful mature wine with lovely sweet fruit with more style resolved tannins. — 8 days ago

Domaine de Beaurenard (Paul Coulon et Fils)

Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhône Blend 1995

Opened about 8 hours prior to service and Audouze’d. The 1995 pours a pale garnet with a transparent core and a watery rim. There significant variation of the rim too. The viscosity is medium and there is no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing (still!) with notes of bright red cherries, anise, garrigue, cedar forest, leather, dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The body is quite light and thin…but healthy. The finish is medium. Very pretty; very Burgundian. This bottle belies its age. Drink now and through 2030. — 11 days ago
