Presented to me double blind, powerful peach and pineapple fruit cup with jalapeño and bright citrus fruit. Acid was medium+ and so was alcohol. I was between Riesling from Wachau or Sauvignon Blanc…when with the Austria call. Dang…Kim Crawford is making some fun wines with Loveblock. Drink now with hedonism. — 3 months ago

I never would have anticipated drinking my birth year of Cheval Blanc out of a Solo cup yet, here we are. The ‘81 is ruddy still; deep garnet color with some browning towards the rim and loads of sediment. The nose shows some of the telltale green-ness of vintage but everything has found harmony: the fruit has blossomed and structure has integrated. Dark fruited with tobacco, dried purple flowers, mushrooms, herbs and soft eastern spices. Charming! No particular rush to drink these but lovely now. — 5 months ago

No formal notes . Pretty deep Amber , copper colour . Intense marmalade , saffron , creme caramel . Rich on the palate with rich marmalade , saffron notes . Good acidity , but rich. Good length . This is drinkable now and shows quite an advanced colour , though due to its richness will probably carry on delivering for another 20 years , perhaps longer .

This was a rather fascinating evening put together by our incredibly generous host. All 2007 reds were served blind in two flights: 1st Mouton, Haut Brion, Cheval Blanc , La Mission Haut Brion then Latour , Lafite , Petrus and Margaux . Overall the wines showed well , and were mostly enjoyable to drink now , though there is no rush . This somewhat maligned vintage can give a lot of enjoyment in the right environment, I certainly wouldn’t hold back from opening or purchasing any of these wines . They mostly show good density of fruit , personality and elegance , with good freshness. These are not powerful wines , and at times perhaps the fruit can be a little cooler or greener but I was pleasantly surprised by the way they performed , just goes to show you should never write off a vintage without trying the wines ! — 16 days ago

18-8, Disgorged in 2023. Holy shit, this is bloody amazing!!!! The nose is intensely elegant. Honey brioche, baked apples and spices. Bubbles are fine and sexy. On the palate, it's super - complex, layered and lengthy. And the fact it's only Disgorged last year...wow! My first Selosse. I now know why it's so hyped and I cannot disagree. Pale lemon in color.

Medium in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing limes, lemons, green apples, light wood, earth, herbs and minerals.

Nice finish with limes and almonds.

This is a very young Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in France.

I had a few vintages of this wine and it is definitely better with age. Needs 5 years in the bottle to mature properly, but starting to drink nicely now.

This 9 year old Sauvignon Blanc drinks very fresh and young. Elegant and easy drinking.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 45 minutes of airtime.

Good by itself or with food.

13% alcohol by volume.

Sharp and citrusy. I loved the mineral chalky texture and the lightness of the wine. Great length Fruit is plentiful but relaxed (in a good way). Perfect for a snowy indoor holiday evening. Cheers! — 2 months ago

2014 vintage. Very tight, with that great 2014 acidity that balances the richness of this great vintage. Still a baby, needs many more years, but I can see this becoming one of the legendary Guiraud Sauternes in 10 years time. Conservative score for now. — 4 months ago
